By using Plotify you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
What Plotify is
Plotify is software for finding and hosting parties and nightlife. Hosts create parties, set who can come, and sell tickets. Plotify does not organize, run, supervise, or attend any party or event. The host of a party is solely responsible for it. Events listed from venues and ticketing sites are run by those venues.
Who can use Plotify
- You must be 13 or older to use Plotify or create an account. If you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission.
- To host a party, you must be 18 or older, or have a parent or guardian who knows you're hosting and agrees to these terms for you.
- To sell tickets and receive payouts, you must be at least 18 and pass identity checks run by our payment processor, Stripe.
Plotify may ask Apple to share your age range (never your birthday), if you allow it. We use your age range and any birth year you enter only to decide what parties and events to show you and whether you can buy a ticket to an age-restricted party. Neither one is an identity check.
Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users on Plotify. The following are not allowed anywhere in the app: messages, party names and descriptions, display names, @handles, flyers, or submitted events.
- Sexual content involving minors, of any kind, in any form.
- Soliciting anyone for sexual contact or images, or pressuring anyone for a home address, live location, or a time when they're alone.
- Harassment, bullying, threats of violence, or hate speech targeting anyone by race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
- Promoting or selling illegal drugs or weapons, or offering alcohol to anyone under 21.
- Impersonating another person, or hosting a party under someone else's name or at someone else's address.
- Sharing anyone's address, phone number, or location without their consent.
- Spam, scams, fake events, or selling tickets to a party that isn't real.
Consequences. Accounts that post this content are removed, permanently. Reporting something hides it from you immediately. Every report reaches Plotify's moderation queue and is reviewed within 24 hours. Violating accounts are terminated. Content involving a minor is removed immediately, the account is terminated with no appeal, and it is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and the appropriate authorities.
Reporting and blocking
Every message can be reported (long-press, then Report), every party can be reported (the menu on the party), and every person can be blocked. Reported content is hidden from you immediately. Blocking works both ways, takes effect immediately, and only you can undo it.
Plotify also screens incoming messages on your device for a narrow set of patterns: requests for your address, questions about whether you're alone, requests for photos, and sexual content. It warns you or hides the message. This screening is a first pass, not a guarantee. It can be worked around and is not a substitute for reporting.
Hosting a party
Before your first party goes live, you agree to the host rules in the app. As a host:
- You confirm you have the right to host at the address you enter.
- You set the party's age honestly: all ages, 18+, or 21+. If alcohol is served, the party must be 21+, and you are responsible for making sure nobody under 21 is served.
- You are solely responsible for your party: who you let in, checking ID, safety, capacity, noise, permits, insurance, and following every law that applies to it.
- You won't promote or sell drugs, weapons, or anything illegal.
Plotify shows your exact address only to guests you approve. Once you've approved someone, what they do with that address is outside our control.
Tickets and payments
- The host is the seller. When you buy a ticket on Plotify, you are buying it from the host. Plotify provides the checkout and charges a service fee, which is shown before you pay.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and never touch Plotify's servers. Hosts receive payouts through Stripe and agree to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement.
- Refunds. If a host cancels a party, buyers are refunded, including the service fee. Other refunds are up to the host. Plotify may refund a buyer directly, and recover the amount from the host's balance, when a party was cancelled, misrepresented, or fraudulent.
- Age-restricted parties. For an 18+ or 21+ party, you confirm at checkout that you meet the age. The host checks ID at the door, and the host decides whether to let you in.
- Hosts are responsible for any taxes on their ticket sales.
Going to parties and events
You decide which parties and events to go to, and you go at your own risk. Plotify doesn't check hosts' homes or venues, doesn't screen guests, and isn't present at any party. Age labels come from the host or the venue and are information, not a promise. Event details from venues and ticketing sites can be wrong, out of date, or cancelled. Check anything that matters before you travel.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. You give Plotify permission to store and display it to the people you chose to show it to, and to review it when it is reported. We don't sell it, use it to train AI, or show it to advertisers.
You'll cover us for what you do
If you host a party, sell tickets, or break these terms, and someone makes a claim against Plotify because of it, you agree to cover Plotify's losses and reasonable legal costs from that claim, to the extent the law allows.
Limits on liability
Plotify is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, Plotify is not liable for anything that happens at a party or event you found, attended, or hosted through it, or through contact with another user, and Plotify's total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of the service fees you paid Plotify in the 12 months before the claim, or $100.
Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.
Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. If you have a problem, contact us first; most things can be fixed that way. If we can't resolve it informally within 60 days, either of us may bring the claim in small claims court, or in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California.
Ending your access
You can delete your account at any time from Account, then Delete account. We can suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms, immediately and without notice when the content involves a minor.
Changes
We'll note material changes in the App Store release notes of the version that makes them, and ask hosts to accept changed host rules again in the app.
